Summary

A loomwight found in 1957 has previously been dated to the Bronze Age, but is now thought to be medieval or post medieval. A Roman coin was found in 1960.

1957. Poplar Road. In digging for sewerage scheme at depth of 1.2m (4') in clay.
Cylindrical clay loom weight originally identified as Late Bronze Age but in 1972 reassessed as medieval or post medieval.
