Full Description
Bressingham Hall is a late 18th century which is now part of Bressingham Steam Museum.
(S1) mentions a 'good old mansion house' from which a Captain Hunt had removed wainscotting to Framlingham.
Site of moat?
E. Rose (NAU) 4 May 1979.
[1] is reported to have said that there was a moat around the hall until the early 1800s.
Is this accurate? Or is it a confusion with Boyland Hall which was the main manor of Bressingham? Note also the dyke pattern south of hall.
However note how (S2) has a long section on 'Bressingham Hall' then later one on Boyland Hall, though in fact both sets of information refer to Boyland.
E. Rose (NAU) 18 May 1981.
May 2011. Newspaper Article.
Bressingham steam museum celebrates its 50th anniversary. Alan Bloom brought Bressingham Hall, set in 220 acres of grounds, in 1946, and started collecting engines for the museum in 1961.
See (S3) for further details.
D. Lefeuvre (HES), 22 August 2011.
