This is actually only the western side of a relatively large, sub-rounded mound with an east to west length of 150m and a width of 90m (S1 and S2). The site appears as several large amorphous light-coloured or parched areas. The eastern side is recorded as NHER 1592. The size of the site would suggest a relatively long period of occupation and salt production, albeit on a possible seasonal or piecemeal basis.
M. Brennand (NMP), 10 August 2001.
