Summary

This 16th century jettied building has visible timber framing on the upper floor. It was possibly built around an older house. The ground floor is built of flint but has been much altered and the windows have been blocked in brick. There is a blocked doorway in the Shire Hall (NHER 15129) that once led through to this property.

Jettied house, timber framing visible above, windows occupy original spaces. Ground floor wall of flint, much altered, windows blocked in brick. Tiled roof, its shape suggests old timbers. Note also the blocked doorway in the Shire Hall once leading through. West gable wall to High Street has old brick quoins, but no jetty. 16th century, core perhaps older.
