Full Description
November 1951. Listed, Grade II*.
Listing Description:
Good early 18th century house. Red brick, with flint end walls. Steep black-glazed pantile roof with brick coping to gable ends. Moulded eaves cornice. Brick string course at floor level; 2 storeys. Five windows, sashes with original thick glazing bars in exposed casing, flat brick arches, centre 1st floor round-headed. Central doorway with wide pilasters and entablature with pediment; fielded-panel reveals and fielded panel door. Brick chimney stack at each end. Right hand (north) wing set back: probably early 19th century; lower, 2 storeys; only one 1st floor casement; red brick with hipped pantile roof. Interior of principal part said to contain good panelled rooms. Front garden area fence: Victorian, white painted wooden fence on curve, with square chamfered posts with onion-shaped finials and thin circulate shafts between; gate at centre also curved, of similar design. Low red brick wall at each end of fence ranged up to corner of front of house.

Fine red brick house, earlier 18th century. Five bays, two storeys, central doorway in pedimented wooden case. Window above the door round headed. Tiled roof. String course. Small later extension on northwest, with mark indicating there was once a larger adjoining building instead.
