Summary

A Roman coin of Albinus was found in at this location in 1948. Metal-detecting between 2024 and 2025 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and a range of other undatable and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undatable copper alloy ingot; a Roman brooch and probable furniture fitting; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval and post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval bell, whittle-tang knife fragment and copper alloy unidentified object; a medieval/post-medieval wire pin and writing lead and a post-medieval spur side, furniture drawer handle and jew's harp.
