Summary

In 1949 a piece of Neolithic black pottery was recovered from this site as a stray find. Metal-detecting in 1987, 1992 and 2014 recovered an Iron Age silver coin and a number of other metal objects, including an Early Saxon strap end depicting a horse's head, a medieval lead seal matrix and a post-medieval crotal bell.

1949. Stray find.
Recovered from sandy soil in field 116a, located to the south of Red Barn Farm.
Rim sherd of a Neolithic A2 bowl. Initially described as black paste with flint with a furrowed surface and fingertip fluting (S1).
Later described as a Neolithic bowl with an externally expanded rim and decorated in the Mildenhall style (S3).
Reported as desposited in the Sandrignham Estate Museum (214.952) [1].

Possible undated find.
King's Lynn Museum find record maps (S8) include the annotation "Windmill Hill pottery, C. H. Lewton-Braine" at this location. It also annotates "Windmill Hill pottery" found at NHER 1667. There are no further details as to the nature of these finds.
