Summary

This church now has a cruciform plan, but the present transepts were originally aisles. The church probably dates to around 1300, as does the angle piscina and the east window (which has been renewed). Inside there are three fonts and a defaced effigy of a Civilian dating to around 1300, as well as a brass to William Rokewode of 1474.

February 2002. Watching Brief.
Contexts 5-23.
NAU watching brief on drainage trenches on south side of church revealed walls, floor surfaces and demolition deposits of the former south aisle and the base of a probable buttress.
Medieval painted glass, lead window came and glazed floor tiles were recovered from the post medieval build-up deposits.
