Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here during 1983 recorded sherds of Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval pottery along with some post medieval material, bone and shell fragments. Aerial photographs of the area also show the cropmarks of a regular moat at this site. It has been suggested that this moat relates to either the Bishop of Ely's Manor House or Lewes Manor (see also NHER 18947).
