Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here during 1983 recorded sherds of Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval pottery along with some post-medieval material, bone and shell fragments. Aerial photographs lidat of the area also show the cropmarks of a regular moat at this site. It has been suggested that this moat relates to either the Bishop of Ely's Manor House or Lewes Manor. See NHER 18947 for further details.
