Summary

Extensive metal-detecting at this location from 1983-98 and again in 2011 recovered a wealth of multi-period metal objects. The most interesting of these comprised Iron Age coins of the Iceni tribe, Roman and medieval coins, medieval and post-medieval jettons, a Roman plate brooch, an Early Saxon stylised animal head with loop for a hinge, a Middle Saxon pin and a medieval lead token with a roughly incised star on one face.
