Summary

In 1949 a possible Bronze Age barrow was reported at this location. The barrow was 26m in diameter and 1.2m high but its location made assessing the dimensions difficult. A visit to the site in 1999 showed the barrow survived under a good covering of grass

26m diameter 1.5m high in ploughed field. No sign of ditch.

Lying north of B154 between minor road to Sculthorpe Air Base, and Highfield House.
Described in NHER as 26m diameter, 1.2m high. This difficult to assess, as monument situated on steep slope down to roadside verge and has been disturbed by ploughing. Ground bare of grass at time of visit, intermittently grazed by sheep.

Ploughed and under root crop, reduced in height to 1.2m.

February 1988.
Now under permanent grass. Scheduled.

Under good grass cover, grazed by sheep, minimal mole disturbance.
