Found at Context 1:
1 Roman copper alloy brooch (1st century).
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1957.200).

Found in marly area at [2]:
Roman pottery sherds.

Found at same location as 1960 finds:
2 Roman coins (4th century AE's, one probably Constantius II 337 to 361).
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1962.215).
The 1950s and 1960s finds are noted on a map drawn by [3] indicating the locations of various discoveries made on the Field House estate [4].

1978.
2 trenches dug about 61cm (2') deep (exact spot unknown) and scatter found all over area: apparently the finds were not kept separate.
They include mortarium base with large gritting (2nd century (mortaium rim with triple reeding (3rd century) and another with cordoning.
One piece burnt samian, 3 sherds red polished ware and 3 of soft, orange fabric (A. Gregory (NAU) suggests Harston Kiln, Cambs.).
5 sherds colour coated (A. Gregory (NAU)) also greenish glass rim, painted, splayed with thickened edge from vessel with mouth about 3.8cm (1.5") radius.
Copper alloy disc ?minim (A. Gregory (NAU) says too regular and no inscription found in conservation).
AE of Numerian (283 to 4).
1st century As of ?Augustus or ?Claudius (very worn).
4 AE of 4th century emperor with diadem and crescent (383 to 408) obverse; DN ARCADIVS PF AVG; REV VICTO RIAA UGGG.
Much of the pottery from the field surface was also found in 1979.

Post-medieval rim sherd of glazed red earthenware with white slip forming a lattice pattern under the glaze. Weighing 31.6g, circa 17th century.
