Full Description
1926. Stray Find.
Found by J. E. Sainty on surface to west side of pits on heath:
1 Palaeolithic flint flake (Group II). Information from (S1).
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1955.25).
This find is listed in (S2) as a retouched flake/flake implement. It is also noted on (S3) and in (S4), (S5) and (S6) although these give no additional information.
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 8 December 2013.
See NHER 59923 for details of poorly unprovenanced Palaeolithic finds from Massingham Heath (several of which were previously detailed in this record). These objects include a handaxe that was possibly found on, or at least near to this site.
