Full Description
1849? In 18 acre field, approximately 0.25 miles east of Stow Bridge over the Ouse.
Probably in pit west of Brick Kiln Plantation north of Kennels on Ordnance Survey.
Two 'unburnt urns' size of a small pail inverted, found broken containing black mould and bones (ribs, cranium, vertebra). Indented ornament on potsherds. No traces of barrow. (S1) and (S2) says funeral urns probably of prehistoric period, calls Stow Bardolph. (S3) wrongly suggested as Early Saxon. (S4) mentions prehistoric urns found in 1849 by [1].

This record was related to Luddington's Gravel Pit, NHER 2405 as the modern map shows Luddington's Pit to be significantly larger than indicated by the polygon for the record.
