Summary

Iron knife and ring discovered on or before 1949, possibly as early as 1873-1877. These objects were originally considered to be Anglo Saxon but later identified as post medieval. The exact location and nature of this discovery are unclear.

Found before 1949.
Anglo Saxon iron knife and a ring from a circular brooch. Probably from Caldecote as they were wrapped in same paper labelled as Caldecote specimens of around 1873 to 1877. NCM Barton Collection, possibly derived from an inhumation cemetery.

1964. Documentary research.
(S1) gives the location of these finds as Caldecote Farm, TF 745 034.

It is not stated what the 'Caldecote specimens' were. However the knife and ring both reidentified as post medieval by C. Scull and E. B. Green (NCM).
