NHER 2715 (Monument record) - Cley St Peter deserted medieval settlement

Site of deserted medieval village.
Mentioned in Domesday Book; had householders in 1428.
St Peter's Church site at TF 8039 0434 (2715/context 1) marked by Ordnance Survey.
Stood against wall of Dashwood's Manor House; church burnt down in the reign of Elizabeth I, but tower remained until 18th century. See (S1) and (S2).

Shows no real evidence of deserted medieval settlement.
Some bumps north of Hall Farmhouse seems more likely to be an old field boundary; farm covers most of area.
A ruined wall is visible where Ordnance Survey mark church site, running north from farmyard south wall, but this may be part of a demolished farm building shown on Ordnance Survey.
