Summary

In 1911 an Early Saxon inhumation was found on Thetford Warren. The skeleton was accompanied by an iron spearhead, a knife and possibly a buckle. The findspot now lies under the golf course which was built in 1912.

August 1911. Thetford Warren. Found in a trench 0.75m (2.5 feet) deep, east of Warren Lodge and south of the Thetford to Brandon Road, during a temporary military camp.
A skeleton buried with an iron spearhead, knife and a possible buckle.
The objects have disappeared and the exact location of the site is unknown, although it is probably covered by the golf course constructed in 1912-3.
