Full Description
Possible medieval moat noted by R. R. Clarke (NCM)
Visited P. Wade-Martins (NAU) in May 1977, the moat appears to be a totally modern feature.
E. Rose (NAU)
However (S1) states that this feature bounds the site of the mansion that existed before the 1783 hall.
E. Rose (NAU) 19 May 1989.
(S2) states that it is a very small lake made by Edward Boardman in 1882 from an existing pond, during the creation of a new formal garden layout.
However it does also say that the hall stands to the south east of the previous building.

The earthworks of the above medieval moat or post medieval garden feature is visible as an earthwork on visualised lidar data from 2022 (S3).
