Summary

The cutting edge of a Neolithic polished flint axehead was found on the surface of this field in 1963. This object and a number of other worked flints found in the same area (probably around the same time) were accessioned by the Norwich Castle Museum in 1999.

Found by [1] at [2]:
1 Neolithic fragmentary polished flint axehead (cutting edge). This object was possibly subsequently given to [3] in 1967. Information from (S1).
The map reference for this record was corrected by E. Rose (NAU), 10 January 1986.

In 1999 the Norwich Castle Museum retrospectively accessioned a number of objects that had previously been in the collection of [3]. These finds a collection of worked flints listed as having been found at [4] (NWHCM : 1999.328.5.1). This assemblage is recorded as comprising:
1 Neolithic polished flint axe blade (almost certainly the object found in 1963), 3 rounded-end scrapers and 1 retouched flake.
1 ?prehistoric "burnt nodular fragment".
