From dredgings adjacent to site of Roman bridge (NHER 2984; west of Riverside Farm).
Medieval sherds including rim fragment of glazed jug of 13th to 14th century (compare to glazed tile from island).
In H. Apling collection, seen by R.R. Clarke (NCM).

Found 400ft [120m] north-west of helmet site (NHER 2984):
Roman pottery sherds. Including fragment of F.37 samian ware by Casurius of Lezoux, about 135 to 145 AD (Oswald). See drawing (S2). Also coarse ware.
