Summary

This is the site of a post medieval ha-ha, contemporary with the late 18th or early 19th century rectory nearby. In 1990 it was overgrown with shrubs and partly filled with garden rubbish at the northern end.

Site of manor, near to church, encompased with moat - Blomefield (S1) X 56.
Is the feature at this grid ref on 6 inch Ordnance Survey map the remnant of this? It is in the rectory garden; moated sites were sometimes given to the church for rectories.

Ordnance Survey inspectors say this is not a water feature but a bare strip of garden. No tace of moat marked on tithe map 1840.
