Summary

The medieval parish church was dismantled in the 1880s, and rebuilt on a new site, see NHER 3320. The original church probably had its origins in the Late Saxon period, and the only standing remains are the octagonal west tower, which probably dates from the Late Saxon period, with later medieval alterations.
