Summary

In 1964 an extensive deposit of burnt flint and dark material was noted at this location that probably represented the remnants of a prehistoric 'burnt mound'. These large accumulations of burnt flint are thought to represent the waste from an activity that saw large quantities of hot flint used boil or heat water. A burnt flint scraper was the only dating evidence recovered.
