Summary

A Neolithic polished flint axehead was found in 1962. A Neolithic flint scraper and fragments of medieval pottery were recovered during the Fenland Survey in 1982. Metal-detecting in 2019 recovered Roman, medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and gun-flint; and a post-medieval harness mount.

Full Description

Large field on Fen skirtland (subdivision on Ordnance Survey removed).

1962; at about 662 128 (NHER 3443, context 1).
Polished flint axe found.
In KLM.
Information from NCM card.

19 November 1982. Fenland fieldwalking.
Whole field walked.
Few sherds, some medieval and others; one flint scraper. No concentration.
