Map

1933.
Banks and ditches were noted covering most of this area of parkland. Thought to be a deserted medieval village.
R.R. Clarke (NCM).

Marks also clear on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1946 where they form rectangles.

21 July 1977. Visit.
Large amount of earthworks still visible. Mounds banks and undulations, all under grass. Large very old trees grow amoung them. However a farm road has been cut across the centre and laid in concrete.
E. Rose (NAU).

February 1991.
Banks survive to around 1 to 1.5m in places, with best survival to north. Deep circular depressions give impression of
quarrying. Steep wide bank and ditch seen alongside road to east. Grazed by cattle with minimal poaching on steeper bank.
See (S1).
H. Paterson (A&E), February 1991

1994. Earthwork Survey.
Site is probably due to village shrinkage. Three medieval sherds found.
See report (S2) for plan and further details. This site was included in (S3) and the survey is noted in (S4).
E. Rose (NLA), 15 March 1995.
