Cropmarks previously documented as part of this record are now recorded separately as NHER 65938.
1931. Stray Find.
Found at [1] (Context 1) by Dr. Philip Laver and reported to R. R. Clarke:
Roman pottery sherds and tesserae.
It should however be noted that a site of his of similar description in Grimston turned out to be Late Saxon, the Roman sherds being Thetford Ware. Details from from A. Rogerson (NAU).

May 1977. Field Observation.
Site visited by A. Rogerson (NAU) in advance of construction of school.
Topsoil stripping not extensive enough to reveal any features.
Some Late Saxon and Saxo-Norman ware, and much medieval ware, all over site, but nothing Roman.

It should be noted that the present extent of this record was probably largely determined by the position of the cropmarks noted in 1974 - which are now recorded separately, as NHER 65938. As it is only possibly to locate many of the above finds to this general area the mapped extent of the record has not been adjusted.
