1974. Stray Find.
Found tumbled down from edge of chalk pit:
Roman pottery sherd. Heavily rolled rim, 2nd to 3rd century AD ware. See drawing (S1).
Sheep bones found in topsoil said to have come from above sherd (how could they tell?).

Saxo-Norman sherds.

Above material is probably the same as material found "1970s to 1980s" (though indicated by [1] and just north of findspot on map) shown to T. Gregory (NAU) and A. Rogerson (NAU) in November 1984 and identified as:
1 Roman body sherd, fine burnished shoulder, late 1st to early 2nd century.
2 Grimston Thetford bowl rims including one with diamond roller stamp.
1 Thetford-type sherd.
