Summary

In 1949 a Roman sestertius of Trajan was recovered from this location. It has also been reported that Neolithic flint axes and Bronze Age copper alloy axes were found at the same site. Fieldwalking in this area during 1997 retrieved prehistoric worked flints along with sherds of Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery.
