Summary

This farmstead comprises of a farmhouse, stables, barn and associated shelters. The farmhouse dates to the mid 18th century but was refronted the in 19th century. A plaque on the gable of the building reads ‘HED 1771’. This is an important example of a farm showing development through the 18th and 19th centuries.

Farmhouse (description not altered 1999) is described as mid 18th century refronted in 19th century, with plaque on gable HED 1771 which relisting of barn describes as a heightening, comparable to the east end of the barn.
The whole is described as an important example of an 18th/19th century farmstead.

November 2005.
Examination showed that the above description is basically correct [1]. The farmhouse, coach house and barn all began in the early 18th century and were extended in 1771. This is an important example of a farm showing development through the 18th and 19th centuries but cannot really be called an example of 18th century planning.
