Summary

Several Roman peat cuttings or turbaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. A fragment of Roman pottery and pieces of daub were found on the site in 1933.

Area extended to include rest of field which is covered with cropmarks of Roman turbaries. It is salutary to note that the old drain appears on the aerial photographs as if a trackway.
