Summary

This is the site of a market cross that was rebuilt in 1385, 1509, and around 1730. During the last rebuilding a figure of Justice was placed on top of the cross. The monument was demolished in July 1836.

Rebuilt in 1385, 1509, and 1604, latter with pillory. Demolished July 1836.

However latter date of rebuilding seems to be a mistake, as (S2) refers to the pillory of 1604 as being at site NHER 16573, and mentions 'an older market cross' with a figure of Justice 'recently' put on top.
