Summary

A possible medieval moat is marked on a museum map, but is not very convincing on the ground, being a pond at the end of a long, overgrown ditch.

Moat marked on NCM map. A pond at this end of a long overgrown ditch.
No indication on ground that this is a moat.

November 2008. Field visit.
More probably a fish pond associated with the monastic grange to the north (NHER 4422) than a moat.
