Full Description
1944.
Cropmark noted on site where Rev. Nightingale suggested a barrow in 1908, see (S1).
1951.
100yds south of Hangour Hill, cropmark on RAF aerial photograph and J. O. H. Nicholls (NCM) visited site 24 November 1951. On ground was area of about 20m to 30m diameter, very black soil with chalk around, viewed from south was noticeable as low mound 1m to 2m high.
