1961. Stray Find.
From stream south side of Shingham Wood about half way between east end of Hall Carr and Gooderstone Road:
Roman jar found complete but later broken by children, wheelmade grey ware.

(S5), seen by A. Rogerson (NAU), quotes [1] as saying that [2] claimed a dug out canoe was found in Shingham Springs (this approx area) but [1] did not believe this, unless it had been obtained from some antique record, as [2] was a newcomer to the area and was unlikely to have otherwise heard of it.
