Map

1952. Stray Find.
Roman pottery reported by [1] 610m (2000 feet) west northwest of Abbey Farm. Not seen. Information from (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 18 November 2013.

Pre 1988. Stray Find.
Various finds recovered prior to 1988 by [2] from 'Orchard' - identified by F. Healy (NAU) as the area comprising old O.S fields 310, 311, 331 and 332. These finds were examined by F. Healy and listed in (S2) as comprising:
3 blades.
2 Neolithic oblique arrowheads.
2 Neolithic polished flint axes. Both butt fragments with squared sides.
5 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowheads (including an irregular Ballyclare type).
2 Beaker pottery sherds.
Healy also notes that the King's Lynn Museum holds an exceptionally large flint blade recovered from the same finder that is marked 'Orchard' (although it is amongst material from O.S field 242/NHER 2531). This is similar to finds from NHER 4738 and may well be Late Upper Palaeolithic in date.
E. Rose (NLA), 30 November 1993. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 18 November 2013.
