Summary

A Bronze Age round barrow has been identified as an earthwork on the ground, and is visible on aerial photographs and lidar imagery (the latter from a survey flown in 2015). It is one of two barrows located in a plantation, on former heathland. The other, NHER 5143, lies approximately 32m to the northeast. It is thought that this may be one of the barrows investigated in 1871 by Lord Rosehill, who found evidence of cremations in them. In 1853 an Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead was found on the barrow.
