Summary

Part of a Neolithic polished flint axe, Neolithic flint flakes, cores and potboilers were found here in the early 20th century. Since then, metal-detecting has recovered an Iron Age strap union and a Roman harness fitting.

Neolithic flakes. Also cores and pot boilers.

3-4 September 1993. Metal detecting rally.
As part of a metal-detecting rally the rides/tracks in the wood were 'sown' with 500 Roman coins and fifteen Roman brooches.
No finds seen on the day of the rally (4 September 1993), but reports that all or most had been found the previous night.
NB field at [3] detected by about 200 people on 4 September 1993, no significant finds.
