Full Description
Windmill. Ordnance Survey marks as 'remains of'. Now gone - only a circular hole in ground.
Seen by E. Rose (NAU), 15 October 1975.
This was a post mill, built in 1782 and demolished 1912. Presumably the hole was where the base building stood.
E. Rose (NAU).
Copies of old photos in Local History Library, copies at NAU show large postmill with spring or Cubitt's sails, on brick roundhouse.
E. Rose (NAU), 19 August 1981.
Last used 1904. The hole is revetted by the remains of the round house walls.
E. Rose (NAU).
