Summary

It is reported that foundations were found here by Forestry Commission workers. These may be related to the deserted medieval village of West Harling. This village is recorded in the Domesday Book and Thursmere Street, West Harling is referred to in a document of 1615.

At Domesday this was a berwic of Kenninghall manor. (S1) records 33 taxpayers in 1332; black death relief 1352 48 taxpayers in 1377. 1615 Thursmere Street mentioned in West Harling.
