1852-5. Excavation revealed Roman building traces and finds.
1932. Casual find of Roman sherds.
1941. Find of Roman coin.
1972. Finds of Roman coins.
1976. In cliff fall, Roman coins.
1978. Earthmoving revealed Roman pottery.
1979. Trenching revealed Roman finds.
1980. Find of Roman coins, pottery etcetera and finds (S1 and S2); Mesolithic flints (probably a reference to NHER 6192), Bronze Age sherds, Iron Age coin reported.
1992. Roman sherds and animal bone found.

Stray finds in base soil.
Roman pottery: one plain Samian body sherd; six body sherds greyware; one rim fragment Nene Valley colour coated.
Three fragments of fired clay, one totally smoothed brick/tile fragment, undatable.
Fragment of lime wall plaster, perhaps Roman.

Roman copper alloy casket mount: small, about 25mm in diameter, circular convex mount with apparently human face surrounded by lion's mane. Presumably with a hollow reverse and iron shank.

A pit 80cm deep and 60cm wide filled with dark loamy soil with flecks of charcoal containing two sherds of Roman pottery was observed within the exposed in the profile of the cliff.
