Summary

A prehistoric perforated quartzite mace was found in Aymerton at some time prior to 1953. Objects of this type are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.

Full Description

Pre 1953. Stray Find.
Found by A. Q. Watson at unknown location in Aylmerton:
1 prehistoric quartzite macehead. Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1953.177.18). Information from (S1).
This object is listed in (S2) as a pebble macehead and listed in (S3) as a perforated quartzite macehead. These objects are now generally seen as not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
