Full Description
On (S1) as Witton Hall.
Built in 1770, demolished early 20th century. Basement remains as rock garden.
The building stood empty for many years in early 19th century and was haunted by smugglers to frighten villagers away - Information from NCM Bolingbroke Collection

Photo (Copy in File) shows house had facade of five bays, three projecting considerably in centre, and three storeys, top with small windows for servants rooms. Central floor windows in tall round-headed recesses. Central door. Side elevation of five bays also, but none projecting; only central window on first floor in round-headed recess which here reaches down through a string course to a door. Owner is said to have another view showing a trapedzoidal bay
on the other side.
Inscription on photo says built by John Morris 1771, demolished 1927.
