Summary

A number of Roman coins, brooches and rings, as well as Saxon, medieval and post medieval metalwork, found by metal detecting. This findspot lies close to the site of a Roman settlement (NHER 7206).

1948. Casual Find.
A Roman mortar rim was recovered. It is in cream clay, blackened, and can be compared with an example from Caistor (R40/46). Possibly early 3rd century.

March 1992. Metal detecting.
A large quantity of Roman objects (43 coins, two rings, and three brooches) were recovered along with a Late Saxon box mount, and medieval and post medieval items including coins, weights, part of a harness, a sword belt fitting and part of a 12th century dog lead.
