Map

1930s. Two fields south of Mileham Castle, found at depth of 1.5m (5 feet) in digging a ditch. Bronze spearhead with loops at base of a blade 20.6cm (8 1/8 inches) long. Traces of haft in socket, (S2).

At East Bradenham school 1938. R. R. Clarke (NCM) saw replica on 1 May 1947 for Dr Puddy. Drawing mislabelled Iron Age in (S1) (card by R. R. Clarke). Drawn NCM (S2) (copy in file).

Card by P. Wade-Martins adds information that it was found in about 1938 in First Park Field.
