Summary

This was thought to be a possible Bronze Age round barrow, but it is now thought to be the result of the construction of a boathouse nearby.

Described as well preserved round barrow 50ft diam, 2ft high - Department of Education.
Described by R. R. Clarke (NCM)as 'recent upcast from making the mere' (Thompson Water).
Schedule received in 1973.
No sign after improvements to mere banks.

The late Lord Walsingham stated in 1983 that the mound was the result of his father building a boathouse. The mound is shown, but not annotated, by (S2) with a boathouse to the north.
