Summary

Part of a Neolithic polished flint axehead was found in 1947. Metal-detecting in 2010 and 2012 recovered prehistoric worked flints; medieval pottery; post-medieval coins and jettons and Late Bronze Age, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Late Saxon stirrup collar mount in the form of a stylised animal head; medieval dress accessories and a sword scabbard chape; fragments of medieval/post-medieval cooking vessels and a post-medieval buckle and spur fragment.
