Summary

An area of undated linear cropmarks is seen on aerial photographs. The features have been previously suggested to relate to a building and a road; however, this interpretation is uncertain. It is possible that some of the features may be geological in origin or possibly relate to modern agriculture or drainage.

OS records this area contains very square cropmarks.
Looks like a building site on 1949 aerial photographs.

February 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
An area of undated linear cropmarks (see above) is seen on aerial photographs (S1). It has been previously suggested (see above) that the site relates to a possible former building and road. However, these features were not seen on the sources consulted as part of this project. It is possible that the features may relate to geological cropmarks, modern drainage and modern agriculture. These features have not been mapped by the project as it is unclear as to whether the features are archaeological in origin. The monument polygon has been updated to location of the features as visible on S1.
