Full Description
Various prehistoric objects known to have been found during the late 19th century or early 20th century in Honingham parish, but with no additional information regarding provenance:
FINDS IN THE NORWICH CASTLE MUSEUM
The Norwich Castle Museum hold a collection of undated prehistoric worked flints that were found at an unknown location in Honingham by H. H. Halls during the early 20th century (NWHCM : 1924.83.32; Hall's Site 32). Information from (S1).
According to (S2) the Norwich Castle Museum also holds a unprovenanced fragmentary Neolithic partly polished flint axehead from Honingham (unregistered). This find is listed separately from the polished flint axehead recorded as NHER 7815.
The Norwich Castle Museum also holds an unprovenanced Bronze Age copper alloy palstave from Honingham (NWHCM : 1931.89). Donated by [1]. This object is 159mm long, looped, with indistinct shield and midrib on face. Noted in (S3). Information from (S4).

FINDS IN OTHER MUSEUMS
A prehistoric pebble macehead from Honington is listed in (S5) as being held by the Ipswich Museum. No other details are given. Objects of this type are generally not considered to be closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
