Summary

In 1958 parts of a necked Bronze Age beaker were recovered from this location. Later, in 1963, excavations in the same area recovered early medieval and post medieval pottery sherds.The cropmarks of a possible Bronze Age ring ditch at this location have been identified in the past, although this is uncertain.

Full Description

1958. Found in Park December.
Necked Beaker in fragments. Sketch (S1) in file. Small dark circle shows on RAF aerial photgraph 4024 of April 1946. Cropmarks of a possible ditch round barrow.
Finds held by NCM.

1963. One of four small depressions excavated by W. F. Edwards and C. G. Rye adjacent to site where Neolithic Beaker was found 1958.
Early medieval sherds and post medieval sherds.
