Summary

A probably 18th century brick kiln was found in 1950. It is marked on a map of 1810, but no trace remains today.

The field extending to the northeast of the brick kiln referred to above was labelled 'Brickkiln Close' on the 1810 East Ruston Enclosure Map (S1). Cropmarks of boundary ditches relating to that field were mapped as part of the Norfolk NMP (NHER 38727). No evidence of the kiln or clay pits was observed during the mapping.
